Come Hell or High Water: A look at Salon AVL After Hurricane Helene

As we begin the journey of rebuilding Salon AVL after the unexpected devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, our hearts are with every member of our community who, like us, faced the storm's impact on their homes, businesses, and daily lives. At Salon AVL, we’re committed to making each client feel beautiful, and that commitment only grows stronger in challenging times.

For the past month, our team has worked tirelessly not only to rebuild but to lift each other up. From our beloved owner Pamela Mease, who has been a part of Asheville for over 20 years, to Taylor Deskins, our dedicated Salon Coordinator, and Caitlin McIntyre, our amazing stylist

Many of us lost power and access to clean water, and our salon had to close for weeks as we struggled without essential utilities, with Pam working temporarily in SC during this time. This has been a challenging season, but our dedication to our clients and our community is what drives us to rebuild better than ever.

At Salon AVL, we prioritize the health of your hair. During this rebuilding period, we’re focused on ways to provide even better services, including educating clients on how Asheville's water quality can affect hair and how to mitigate these effects. We have also installed a water filter on our sink for services.

We're beyond grateful for the support we’ve received from our clients and neighbors. Your kind words and encouragement have meant the world to us. Each member of our team is determined to provide you with the exceptional service you know and love as we reopen our doors.

Thank you for standing with us during this time. Together, we’re rebuilding, rejuvenating, and ready to welcome you back to Salon AVL—where, no matter the storm, our goal remains the same: to make you feel beautiful and supported.

With love and resilience,

The Salon AVL Team
